S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship isn't just about the plaque on my shelf. It represents the years spent in the *gurukul*, the rigorous training under my gurus Vidushis Ranjani-Gayatri, and the weight of responsibility that comes with performing for an audience that deeply values the nuances of classical Carnatic music. Every award and media mention here reflects a specific chapter in my evolution as an artist. Being recognized by institutions like The Music Academy for the 'Best Female Vocalist' and the 'Spirit of Youth' awards is humbling, but what matters most is the validation of the hard work poured into each *manodharma* (improvisation) and composition. I am particularly grateful for the media features, such as those in the Star of Mysore, which captured my concerts at the historic residence of Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya. These aren't just press clippings; they represent the connection I share with my listeners, whether it is a packed sabha or a small, intimate gathering. Each title, be it 'Yuva Kala Bharathi' from Bharat Kalachar or the fellowship from the Shanmukhananda Sabha, serves as a nudge to keep exploring new ragas, collaborating with fellow musicians, and pushing my boundaries as a vocalist. It is a sign that I am on the right path, learning from the legends and trying to bring that same joy to you. ## About Spoorthi Rao I’m Spoorthi, and I see music as a divine journey.
