Before we draw a line, we audit your site for wind tunnels and solar orientation. Whether you are retrofitting a Mumbai apartment or planning a new villa, we design structures that use cross-ventilation and passive cooling, reducing your reliance on air conditioning. Architecture should be a quiet conversation with the land, not a shout for attention. We begin every project by understanding the site, the wind, and the path of the sun. This approach has led us to build vertical oases in dense Mumbai, like the Sarvasva project, where terracotta screens protect the home while letting it breathe. Our work in places like the Lakeshore House in Hyderabad proves that precision and nature can coexist. By using rammed earth walls and metal skeletons, we minimize environmental disruption. We prioritize passive cooling systems, such as courtyards and deep verandahs, which keep interiors comfortable even in India’s sweltering climate. We avoid trends, preferring instead to work with noble, natural materials like basalt, granite, and salvaged teak. These materials age with dignity, gaining character over time. Whether we are retrofitting an apartment in the city or masterplanning a villa by the coast, our goal remains the same: to build spaces that are simple, direct, and easy to live in. We see our role as students of our craft, constantly learning from the chaos of our cities and the stillness of the landscape. ## About Spasm Design We do not chase trends. We believe in building stories and capturing dreams through architecture that feels quiet and relevant. From the rammed earth walls of our Lakeshore house to the vertical green sanctuaries in Bombay, we create spaces that breathe.
