## About The Artisan's Touch: From Sketch to Finish

We don't rely on generic catalogs. My process begins with hand sketches that map out the flow, followed by full-scale factory prototypes where we test everything from edge profiles to material proportions. Whether we are deciding on the exact thickness of a stone inlay tabletop or the curvature of a lounge chair, we refine these details long before they reach your home.

### Why the Process Matters

Many see the final, polished furniture piece, but the journey to get there is what defines a truly personal space. At Walnut, my design process is deeply rooted in transparency and craftsmanship. By controlling the production in our own factory, I ensure that my initial sketches aren't lost in translation.

### From Sketch to Prototype

When we conceptualize a dining table or a custom storage unit, we don't just draw it; we build it. My team and I create prototypes to test the ergonomics and the visual balance. We look at the interplay of materials—like marble, brass, and reclaimed wood—to see how they age and how they feel in a real room.

### The Human Element

Design is only as good as the hands that craft it. I work closely with artisans like Ramvilas, who has been with me for 15 years, to ensure that the free-hand details and paint finishes carry the soul of the design. When you choose to work with us, you aren't just getting furniture. You are getting a piece that has been thought through, tested, and finished with the same care I would put into my own home. Whether we are working on a project in Noida or shipping internationally, this commitment to the 'how' is what makes the end result special.

## About Walnut by Ritu Kaul

I’m Ritu, and for me, the magic is in the making. I don’t just hand off drawings to a factory; I’m on the shop floor with my team, refining curves and finishes until they feel just right. I love creating spaces that carry a piece of my heritage, designed with a focus on soul rather than just style.
