I blend vibrant colors and contemporary symbolism to give timeless myths a new, personal expression. ## Photos and videos - [Video: This animated piece, 'Divine Flute', brings a modern and playful energy to the classic depiction of Radha and Krishna. It is not just about illustration, but about layering surreal elements—like butterflies or dreamlike fluid dynamics—that transform an ancient story into a conversation piece for a modern home. My approach to mythology is heavily influenced by my architectural background. I treat a canvas like I would a building project: starting with a strong conceptual foundation, moving to a monochrome underpainting to map out the light, and only then applying the vibrant, surreal colors that define this collection. ### Why Mythology Needs a Modern Lens Many clients reach out because they want art that carries cultural weight but doesn't feel like a traditional temple print. My goal is to bridge that gap. By using mixed media techniques or surrealist compositions, I aim to keep the soul of the story intact while making it relevant to contemporary interior spaces. ### The Commission Process If you have a specific mythological scene or figure in mind, we start by discussing the emotional resonance you want the piece to have. Whether you prefer the joy of a 'Divine Flute' style piece or a more somber, contemplative study, I provide two preliminary sketches before we commit to the final composition. This ensures that the symbolism we choose aligns perfectly with your vision. ### Technical Details for Large Formats Most of my mythological works are executed as large-format commissions (typically 3x4 ft). These pieces involve: * **Mixed Media:** A combination of oil and acrylics to create depth and texture. * **Durability:** Stretched on reinforced wooden bars to prevent warping over time. * **Narrative:** Every commission comes with a written note from me explaining the specific symbolism and story incorporated into your unique piece. ## About Tejesh I am Tejesh, and for me, painting is an extension of my architectural practice. I don't just decorate walls; I use canvas, paint, and light to tell stories that feel significant to the space they inhabit. I invite you to share your vision, and we will figure out how to translate those ideas into a custom piece.
