It is not just an accreditation but a responsibility to uphold the purity of the sitar tradition in every performance and workshop I lead. My journey in Indian classical music is deeply rooted in the guidance of my Guruji, Pandit Kushal Das Ji. The awards and accolades I have received, including this recent recognition from All India Radio, are reflections of the lineage I represent. Beyond the stage, I find immense fulfillment in contributing to the musical community, whether by adjudicating talent hunts for institutions like the Shiv Nadar Foundation or connecting with fellow artists. These experiences reinforce my belief that music is a shared language. Whether I am performing in a concert or teaching at The Pink Lotus Academia in Delhi, my focus remains on the gayaki ang (singing style) and the nuanced techniques of the sitar. I invite you to explore my work and join me in the journey of discovering the depth of this beautiful instrument. ## About Soumitra Thakur I am Soumitra Thakur, a Sitar player based in Delhi.
