Whether I am performing the linking rings or a quick rope trick, I make sure the grown-ups are just as involved as the kids. You will see parents coming on stage, helping with props, and genuinely cracking up. If you are hosting a gathering where ages range from five to eighty, this interactive style ensures no one is just sitting and watching—everyone is part of the show. ### Why Magic Shows Work for All Ages Many people assume a magician is only for the birthday child, but a good magic show is a great social glue. When I perform at birthdays or private parties across Bengaluru, my goal is to get the adults to drop their guard. It is the contrast that works—the kids enjoy the wonder of the live pigeon or the appearing canes, while the adults enjoy the interactive, comedy-based routines like the linking rings. ### How I Get Everyone Involved - **Breaking the Ice:** I move through the crowd early on. If you have guests sitting at the back, I bring the magic to them. - **Adult Participation:** I do not just invite children on stage. I pull parents and grandparents into the routines. When an adult volunteer helps with a 'failed' trick, the laughter is instant. - **The Language Mix:** My show flows in English, Hindi, and Kannada. This ensures that every guest, regardless of their native language, feels connected to the jokes and the rhythm of the performance. ### Practical Tips for Your Venue Whether you are hosting in a clubhouse hall or a home living room, the setup is flexible. I use a portable mic and speaker system that handles indoor acoustic challenges well. For larger groups of 50 or more, I recommend placing seats in rows to ensure everyone has a clear line of sight, especially for visual illusions like the confetti snowstorm or stage acts. ## About Somesh Somu Namaskara, I am Somesh Somu.
