When I turned that whiskey box into a textured piece, the putty didn't stick initially—I had to scrape it all off and restart. If you have a sentimental object you want to upcycle, we need to assess the material first so the 3D texture holds up perfectly for years. Why let old items gather dust when they can become the focal point of your room? Upcycling is my way of keeping sustainability at the heart of my work. Whether it is a vintage box, a wooden tray, or a forgotten decor piece, I apply custom textured art using specialized modeling paste, acrylics, and metallic accents to give it a fresh life. My process for upcycled art is personal and patient. It starts with a consultation to understand what the item means to you. I prep the surface—often the most critical step—to ensure the 3D relief work adheres correctly. As you can see from my whiskey box project, I am not afraid to experiment or even start over if the texture isn't sitting right. This is not mass production; it is a slow, creative journey to make sure the final piece feels like it belongs in your home. Beyond just the visual appeal, these pieces become conversation starters.
