Whether it is a celebratory cocktail glass from a special evening, a spiritual symbol, or a personal memento, I use heavy-body acrylics or oils to bring out the texture and depth. You just share the reference, and I handle the layering, varnishing, and framing so the piece is ready to display the moment it arrives. ### How I Approach Still Life I started my painting journey in 2019, and unlike my caricatures, this work is about slowing down. Painting objects requires a different kind of focus. It is not just about drawing lines; it is about capturing the way light hits a glass or the mood of a quiet corner. ### Materials and Process I work primarily with heavy-body acrylics because they give me the texture I like, though I have started experimenting with oil paints for certain pieces. * **Surfaces:** Depending on the vibe you want, I paint on stretched canvas for a gallery feel or wooden sheets for a more rustic look. * **Finish:** Every painting is coated with a gloss or matte varnish. This seals the work, prevents dust damage, and stops the colors from fading over time. * **Timeline:** Because I layer the paint to get the right depth and wait for it to dry properly, I typically need 7 to 10 days to complete a piece. I never rush this part because the drying time is essential for quality. ### Framing For these paintings, I do not use glass. I prefer using a sturdy outer box frame or decorative molding. This lets you see the actual texture of the paint and the brushstrokes. If you have a specific space in your home, like a wall that needs a pop of color or a dedicated spot for religious art, let me know. I can create something that fits the size and the mood of that specific corner. ## About SKD I am SKD. My journey with art started in a small village, copying drawings from old books, and that curiosity is still how I approach every canvas. I don't just paint objects, I try to capture the feeling behind them, keeping things honest and simple.
