It is not ritual for the sake of tradition. Before we dive into the physical demands of asanas or the intellectual depth of the Gita, we need to clear the energetic clutter. The fire acts as a focal point, helping you drop the mental noise you brought from the traffic or the office so you can actually be present for the learning ahead. In our Gurgaon centre, we treat these ceremonies as a science of the mind. When we perform a Homam, we are using the element of fire to focus our awareness. The mantra 'Om Gam Ganapataye Namah' is not just sound; it is a vibration designed to help us overcome the internal obstacles that block our potential—fear, anxiety, and rigid thinking. We keep these rituals authentic to our Sivananda roots. You will see us lighting the diya, offering ghee, and chanting in a way that respects the lineage. It is a space for the seeker who feels that something is missing in the daily grind of city life. Whether you are joining us for an Advanced Yoga Teachers’ Training Course or just looking to connect with a community that values deep spiritual practice, these ceremonies provide the foundation. These gatherings are not just for experts. You do not need to be a Sanskrit scholar or a master of asanas to sit by the fire and feel the shift. We create a positive psychic environment where the only requirement is an open mind. By participating, you join a sangha that supports your growth beyond the mat. We invite you to sit with us, share in the chanting, and experience how these ancient methods apply to modern challenges like work stress, family balance, and finding your purpose. ## About Sivananda Yoga Centre I have been teaching yoga and conducting these traditional ceremonies for over three decades.
