This image captures the focus and dedication I bring to every recording session, whether for Indian classical, fusion, or film music.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/205eb1ee-354f-4766-a87d-25787c972544) ## About Artist Portraits When you see me with my sitar, you are seeing the result of years of disciplined training under Pandit N V Gopinath. Whether I am preparing for a studio recording session or walking onto a stage in Bangalore, that focus is what I bring to your project. It is not just about holding the instrument, but the intention and classical foundation behind every note I play. Music has been my constant companion since I was young. These portraits are more than just photographs, as they capture the moments of silence before the music begins, a practice as vital to my craft as the performance itself. My training is rooted in Indian classical tradition, but my career has taken me through world music stages with artists like Ricky Kej and Stewart Copeland. This range allows me to adapt quickly. If you are hiring me for a session, you are getting someone who understands the nuances of the ragas as well as the needs of a modern fusion track. When we work together, whether on a film score, a devotional piece, or a live event, my priority is the sound. I am comfortable sight-reading, improvising on the spot, or layering tracks to help you build a soundscape that fits your vision. I am based in Bangalore and handle my own studio sessions, but I am equally happy to travel for concerts or collaborations. Let us connect to discuss your next project, whether you need a specific sitar melody for a film, a mandolin piece for a fusion album, or a live performance that leaves a lasting impression. ## About Suma Rani I am a classical musician, but I love the freedom that comes with fusion. Whether I am in a studio in Bangalore or performing live, I pour my heart into every string.
