Whether it is a retro Kannada track or a beloved Bollywood melody, the goal is to create a seamless balance between the familiarity of the tune and the meditative resonance of the strings. My repertoire is built around bridging the gap between classical technique and popular appeal. Many clients ask for specific songs from their favorite films, and I take pride in transcribing these melodies for the sitar to ensure they retain their emotional core. ### Why Regional Melodies on Sitar? The sitar is often associated purely with classical ragas, but it possesses a beautiful capacity to carry the lyrical nuances of film songs. From the evergreen hits of G.K. Venkatesh to the soulful compositions of M.S. Viswanathan, I adapt these tunes to fit the acoustics of weddings, corporate dinners, or private poojas. ### Customizing Your Setlist Every event has a different energy. For a Sitar and Tabla duet, we lean into high-energy interplay that brings out the rhythm of classic Kannada retro songs. If you prefer a solo performance for an intimate gathering or a family function, I focus on slower, more melodic interpretations that provide a soothing background atmosphere. ### A Note on Requests If you have a particular song that holds sentimental value, please share the title when booking. I am happy to include specific requests in my performance set to make your event truly personal. ## About Suma Rani Music is my way of connecting with people, and there is something truly special about sharing a familiar tune through the strings of my sitar. I approach every performance with the same dedication I learned from my guruji, Pandit N V Gopinath, ensuring your event feels both grand and personal.
