## About Abacus & Cognitive Skills Training for Kids

### Why I Teach

For me, seeing our makkalu (kids) lose their math fear and start loving numbers is the best part of this work. When a parent tells me, "Ma'am, avanige math andre bhaya hoitu" (he doesn't fear math anymore), I feel tumba khushi (so happy). This is more than just a math class - it's about helping kids discover what they're really capable of.

### What Kids Get Here

I work with children aged 6 to 12, using a mix of abacus visualization technique, brain gym activities for children, and speed writing. These tools help kids:
- Build strong mental math for kids
- Improve memory and focus
- Sharpen listening skills
- Get faster and neater with handwriting improvement for students

Classes are fun, never too strict, and I offer both in-person and online sessions. Kids start with the abacus, then learn to imagine it in their mind and do calculations faster than most grown-ups can.

### The Changes You’ll Notice

- Math anxiety goes down, confidence goes up
- Kids start thinking for themselves, solving problems on their own
- Patience and discipline improve, not just in math but across subjects

### How We Begin

There’s a gentle module for younger kids (Class 1 or 2), plus summer camps with extra games and activities. I always say - just 15 minutes of practice a day really works wonders.

I want every child to feel, "Math is easy for me!" That's why I keep the batches small and personal.

## Meet your expert

[Shobha](https://mytribe.in/sipabacus_basavanagudi)

### My story

Namaste! I’m the one running SIP Abacus in Basavanagudi. You know, maths scares most makkalu (kids). They count on fingers, get nervous. We started this center to change that. Once, a parent saw our student rattle off the 43 times table atte time (instantly) – they signed up right away. My team, Annapoorna and Nagaratna, have stuck with me for 10+ years. We’re not just teaching numbers. We see shy kids become confident, win Olympiads, stand on stage holding trophies. That’s what makes us proud.

### My work

- **SIP Abacus Programs**: We teach abacus, Brain Gym, speed writing classes, and Vedic maths for children aged 6-12.
- **Beyond Just Numbers**: Kids lose fear of maths, build cognitive skill development, improve memory, concentration, and handwriting.
- **Instant Answers, Real Results**: Parents see kids ditch finger counting, answer fast, and become confident in school and life.
- **Whole Brain Learning**: Our classes boost logic, creativity, and visualization for balanced, stress-free learning.
- **Success Stories**: Our abacus Olympiad winners solve 30 sums in 5 minutes, win medals, and shine in competitions.
