It is why our physical model-making happens in the heart of the office, not a back room—so every detail, from joinery to light filtration, is debated and refined by everyone on our team. At SIAN, we don't believe in silos. Our design process relies on the belief that a building is a dialogue between the land, the materials, and the people who will inhabit it. Because of this, our studio is designed to be a workshop—a space where we move between digital rendering and handmade scale models to test how form and stability actually work at a human scale. ### Why We Work This Way Our studio culture thrives on what we call 'beautiful chaos'. A typical week might involve early mornings spent aligning project goals, afternoons dedicated to sketching, and spontaneous brainstorming sessions over lunch. We maintain a hands-on approach to architectural design, whether we are finalizing joinery details for an urban kiosk, coordinating site contractors for a residential project in Noida, or conducting material research in our library. ### Expertise and Process This collaborative ethos extends beyond the studio walls. We believe that sustainable architecture is not just about using the right materials like bamboo or rammed earth, but about understanding the rhythm of the site. By involving every team member in the 'why' of a project—be it site visits to a residence in Meerut or refining public realm masterplanning—we ensure that our outcomes are grounded in reality, not just aesthetics. We invite you to see our process as part of your project journey, ensuring every space we craft is thoughtful, practical, and enduring. ## About SIAN Architects We’re Surbhi and Deepanshu. At SIAN, we are less of a top-down hierarchy and more of a creative collective that believes design is best when it is debated and tested. We spend as much time building physical models and walking project sites as we do at our desks, ensuring every space we create is truly lived in.
