We host regular gatherings—from Rakshabandhan jamming sessions to Navaratri performances—that turn the sometimes daunting prospect of learning classical music into a shared family celebration. For us, the 'classroom' is a living room. We know that the pressure of perfection can make Indian classical music feel inaccessible, so we strip that away. Our community events are designed to be low-pressure and high-joy, whether it’s a Guru Purnima gathering or a simple birthday celebration where kids get to showcase what they’ve been practicing. ### Why Community Matters in Music When children see their peers and parents engaged in the same musical journey, their confidence grows naturally. It stops being a chore and starts being a shared language. * **Parent-Child Bonding:** Our events aren't drop-off zones. We encourage parents to sit on the floor, play an instrument, or learn a sargam alongside their child. * **Cultural Roots:** We weave in festivals and special days, helping children understand the cultural context behind the music. * **Real-World Confidence:** Small stage performances, like our Navaratri showcases, help kids express themselves without the fear of judgment. Whether you are looking for parent-child music activities or want to introduce your child to the nuance of an Indian classical instrument, our community is the best place to start. We are currently active in localities across Bangalore like JP Nagar, Jayanagar, Whitefield, and Koramangala. If you are looking for an Indian classical music education that feels less like a strict school and more like a home, come spend a weekend with us. ## About ShrotaHouse I started ShrotaHouse because I wanted to bring the warmth of our Bharat home music sessions to every child. We don't believe in strict, solitary practice; we believe in noisy, joyous discovery where parents and kids learn side-by-side.
