Your child gets a supervised turn to explore the strings of a sitar, the vibrations of a tabla, or the keys of a harmonium. It is about removing the intimidation factor of classical music and replacing it with the simple joy of discovery, where messy, loud, and inquisitive exploration is exactly what we encourage. ### More Than Just Music At ShrotaHouse, our goal isn't to create prodigies overnight; it is to build a lifelong love for Indian classical music. We host 'instrument petting zoos' where children—and yes, parents too—can get hands-on with real, professional-grade instruments. Whether it is the rhythmic resonance of a mridangam or the delicate notes of a sitar, we bring these sounds out of the concert hall and into the classroom. ### The ShrotaHouse Approach We believe that early music education should be sensory-first. Our workshops are designed to be: * **Tactile:** Kids get to physically hold and play instruments. * **Story-led:** We weave the history and stories of raags into the session, making learning effortless. * **Inclusive:** Our floor-seating arrangements create a cozy, non-hierarchical space where everyone is part of the same circle. ### Where We Are We are a mobile community. You will find us partnering with preschools, art cafes, and community centers across Bangalore, from JP Nagar to Whitefield and Koramangala. If you are a parent looking for a weekend activity that is engaging, educational, and genuinely fun, our workshops offer a rare chance for your child to experience the 'sur' and 'taal' of our heritage firsthand. Join our parivar and let the musical journey begin. ## About ShrotaHouse I am Madhumita Bhaskar, and ShrotaHouse is my way of bringing the music I grew up with into your living room.
