Whether I am performing with fellow dancers or integrating live recitation, my goal is to ensure the narrative is accessible. I typically provide verbal introductions in English and Hindi to deconstruct mythologies, so that everyone in the audience, regardless of their prior familiarity with classical dance, feels connected to the story on stage. ### The Power of Partnership For me, the stage is a space for constant learning. When I work with other artists—be it musicians, poets, or fellow dancers like Adithya PV—I look for ways to expand the language of Bharatanatyam. A performance is rarely just about my own movement; it is about how we occupy the space together. In projects like our interpretation of Sarojini Naidu’s poems, I worked closely with violinist Sridhar and Suranya Aiyar to ensure the dance didn't just accompany the music, but became a visual extension of the verses. ### Curation & Festivals Beyond performing, I am deeply committed to the growth of our classical community. Through my academy, I curated the 'Saadhana' festival at the India International Centre. It was a privilege to provide a platform for young, talented dancers to showcase forms like Odissi and Mohiniyattam alongside Bharatanatyam. Seeing established artists like Radhika Menon and emerging talents perform on the same stage reinforces my belief that we are part of a larger, vibrant ecosystem. ### Technical Professionalism When we take these productions to venues like the Stein Auditorium or the Alliance Française, I focus on the technical details that hold a show together. This includes professional stage lighting design, precise audio mastering for our pre-recorded scores, and coordinating with venue management to ensure that props and sets are handled with care. If you are looking to host a thematic production for a corporate event, cultural festival, or private gathering, I bring this same standard of preparation, from the initial concept to the final bow. ## About Shreyasi Gopinath I am a Bharatanatyam dancer trained at Kalakshetra, now based in Delhi. My practice is driven by a deep love for storytelling, whether I am performing a solo or directing a multi-artist production.
