Before every recital, we focus intensely on Araimandi (the half-sit posture) and stage presence. It is not just about showing off; it is about holding the Talam while under the lights, ensuring that the years of training translate into confident, graceful storytelling for the audience. For me, the classroom is where we plant the seeds, but the stage is where the garden blooms. We treat every performance—whether it is an intimate studio recital, a community event at the Ayyappa Swamy Temple, or a major production like 'The Wheel of Choices'—as a vital part of the student's education. ### Why Performance Matters In our academy, we do not view performing as an end goal, but as a teaching tool. It is the moment a student learns to connect with an audience, to manage their nerves, and to embody the emotions they have been studying in their theory sessions. When a student portrays a complex character, like the grey-shaded Duryodhana, they learn to analyze literature and bring it to life through Abhinaya (expression). ### Our Performance Philosophy - **Incremental Growth:** We start small, encouraging students to perform in internal showcases to build comfort and confidence. - **Technical Precision:** Performances demand stamina. We integrate dedicated fitness conditioning into our training to ensure students can maintain perfect geometric lines and posture throughout their repertoire. - **Cultural Context:** We believe dancers should understand the 'why' behind the 'what'. Students learn the Sanskrit literature and the Talam rhythm structure behind every piece they perform, which gives their stage presence depth and authenticity. We provide opportunities for all ages, from kids to adults, to share their art. Whether you are aiming for your first Arangetram or simply looking to find joy in dance, our goal is to help you stand tall, smile, and share your expression with the world. ## About Shreyasi Gopinath I am Shreyasi. For me, teaching is therapy, and watching my students shine on stage is my greatest reward.
