This is a deep immersion into the rhythm, soul, and technique of authentic flamenco. ## Photos and videos - ![Here we are after an inspiring Cante Masterclass with Maestra Mercedes Cortes and musicians Jordi Flores and Nico. It was a privilege to learn with such depth and generosity, and an unmatched luxury to have a live guitarist accompany each student's solo letra (verse).](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/20707b75-ac8c-46c4-aaed-4ab2ae36d774) ## About Deep Dive: Training with the Masters Real flamenco is not just learned in a studio; it is felt through the live interaction between dancer and guitarist. In these masterclasses, you will move beyond recorded music and start understanding the 'compas' (rhythm) by dancing alongside a live musician, which is exactly how you will perform a 'letra' (verse) with genuine musicality. When you join our immersion tour, you are stepping away from the tourist path and into the heart of Andalucia. We spend 14 nights in Sevilla, the birthplace of this art, focusing on the connection between dance, singing (cante), and rhythm (compas). My years of building relationships here mean we gain access to authentic professional dance studios, known as corralones, where the history of the dance lives in the walls. ### Why this training is different Most studio classes back home rely on recorded tracks, but here, the music is alive. You will have a live guitarist accompanying your movements, teaching you how to listen to the guitarist and how they, in turn, react to your footwork. This dialogue is the essence of flamenco. Whether you are polishing your technique with local maestros or diving into vocal sessions, the focus is always on understanding the 'why' behind the steps. ### The Immersion Experience We do not just train; we live the culture. You will watch professional tablao shows, explore historic neighborhoods like Triana, and share stories over tapas with your fellow dancers. It is a shared pilgrimage for our SCFA familia. You leave with not just a new set of moves, but a deeper understanding of the soul of the dance. If you feel the call of the music and want to push your boundaries, this is where you belong. ¡Vamos a bailar! ## About Shehzeen Cassum I have spent years building real relationships with flamenco masters in Sevilla, and my goal is to guide you through that same door.
