## About Bengali Event Catering

### Why I Do This

Food is about memory for me. Every meal I cook is inspired by my Thakumoni's kitchen in Kolkata and the flavours from Bengali festivals. This isn’t just a business - it’s sharing my roots with you, serving up simple, homey Bengali food made with genuine care.

### What You Get

I help you host a real Bengali event - whether it’s a birthday, family get-together, or just a craving for a proper Bengali spread in Delhi-NCR. My Bengali event catering is fully custom - we chat, plan the menu together, and I cook it fresh in my FSSAI-registered home kitchen. You pick: a full traditional Bengali wedding menu with course-by-course dishes or a mix of your favourites, including some off-menu surprises if you want.

### The Spread

- It all starts with steaming rice - prothom paat (first plate) style
- Bengali vegetarian feast: Dhokaar Daalna, Aloo Posto, Chhanar Kofta Curry, Begun Basanti
- For fish lovers: Shorshe Pabda/Chingri, Katlar Kalia, Lau Chingri, Doi Bhetki
- Meat treats: Kawsha Mangsho, Maangsher Jhol, Doi Roshun Murgi, Kolkata style Chilli Chicken
- Sweet endings: Tomato & Aamshotto chutney, Plastic Chutney, and Noleyn Gurer Payesh (that winter-special rice pudding)

### My Food Philosophy

I use the same ingredients and recipes I feed my own family. No shortcuts. No “pet kharap hobe” (no upset tummy worries). Just honest, authentic Bengali home-cooked catering that brings a taste of Calcutta style party food to your table. Your special day matters to me.

## Meet your expert

[Sharmi's Happy Meals](https://mytribe.in/sharmishappymeals)

### My story

You know, I started Sharmi's Happy Meals ‘cause I just couldn’t get over those deemer kawsha from Bengal fairs. Baba always dragged me away - 'Pet kharap hobe!' (You’ll get a tummy upset!). Now, I cook what I missed, and every dish has a story – from Pui Shaakeyr Chorchori (learned from Thakumoni) to Shobuj Aloor Dom (honeymoon memories). It’s all about simple Bengali food, with a side of nostalgia and a lot of love.

### My work

- **Authentic Bengali Weekend Meals & Bulk Orders**: I do rotating menus of Bengali dishes every weekend, plus special bulk orders for Delhi-NCR.
- **Simple, Nostalgic Bengali Food**: No fancy stuff. Just the kind of nostalgic Bengali home food that’s loaded with memories.
- **Every Dish Has a Story**: From Calcutta mela recipes to biyebari feasts, my food is all about stories and happy memories.
- **Full Bengali Spread**: From light maacher jhol to spicy Kawsha Mangsho, Dhokaar Dalna delivery, and Tangra-style Chilli Chicken—there’s something for everyone.
