Whether we are drilling *dhamaar* or working on complex tabla *bols*, my goal is to help you move beyond simple step-counting and start speaking the language of rhythm. If you are struggling to sync your footwork with the percussion, this is the foundation we build together in class. In the Jaipur Gharana tradition, rhythm is not just an accompaniment; it is the skeleton upon which the dance is built. Pāḍhant—the vocal recitation of the rhythmic syllables—is where the dancer internalizes the structure before it ever reaches the feet. By practicing this recitation alongside tabla training, you develop a sharper ear for time cycles and a deeper command of the *bols*. ### Why focus on Pāḍhant?
