## About 18 Days: The Dusk of an Era

We approach the Mahabharat not just as a story, but as a technical and philosophical challenge. When depicting complex characters like Shakuni, we deliberately avoid generic movements, choosing instead to use unsettling rhythms in 9.5 beats and chromatic musical notes to represent adharma. It is about creating a physical language for virtue and vice that resonates with the audience without needing words.

### The Philosophy of 18 Days
At the heart of 18 Days: The Dusk of an Era lies the question: how do we make the Kurukshetra war relevant today? It is not about simply retelling history, but about exploring the nuances of Dharma. Whether we are in a theater in Mumbai or an auditorium in Bangalore, our goal remains the same: to evoke that specific Rasa or emotional bliss that leaves the audience contemplating their own choices.

### Innovation in Tradition
We believe tradition is not static. Our production utilizes modern multimedia and projection mapping to create a 3D-like experience on stage, ensuring the grand scale of an epic like Mahabharat is felt by every viewer. We faced a significant creative hurdle: how to depict the immense scale of Ghatotkacha without relying solely on VFX? We solved this through innovative stagecraft, using children of a smaller stature alongside adult performers to create a visual disparity that feels cinematic in a live setting.

### A Collaborative Vision
This production is the result of decades of dedication by our family, the Prabhath Academy. It combines the rigorous training of the Jaipur Gharana Kathak with classical Karnatic music. We are grateful to have had thinkers and artists like Vivek Agnihotri and Prakash Belawadi recognize our efforts to preserve these ancient forms.
