My approach to these productions involves more than choreography; it is a blend of Sanskrit research for the script, rhythmic calculations for the musical score, and specific lighting design to make the mythology feel tangible. We aim to ensure that when we tell stories like 'Govardhana Leela' or 'Kathaastra', the narrative flow is as tight and engaging as a modern film, bridging the gap between ancient text and the contemporary stage. These productions are not just performances; they are an attempt to recreate 'Rasa'—that aesthetic bliss that connects the viewer to the divine. My work with Prabhat Arts International is centered on removing the clutter that often hides the beauty of our epics. ### My Process Every project begins with the source text. Whether it is the Mahabharata saga or a specific Puranic event like the Govardhana Leela, I stick to the roots, reading the original Sanskrit and shastras rather than interpreting them through secondary sources. ### The Production Approach * **Multimedia Integration:** We use 3D visuals, cinematic lighting, and modern stage technology to support the traditional Nritta and Abhinaya. The goal is to make the mythology visually accessible to a 21st-century audience without compromising the sanctity of the story. * **Original Soundscapes:** Music is the soul of the performance. I compose original rhythmic cycles and melodic scores that blend Carnatic and Hindustani elements. You will not find synthesized tracks here; we record with live musicians—vocalists, percussionists, and instrumentalists—to ensure the sound system in your venue carries the full depth of the performance. * **Scaling Up:** From solo Kathak interpretations to massive, Broadway-scale dance dramas with over 20 dancers, I handle the creative direction, scriptwriting, and light cue sheets. My goal is to deliver a complete production that requires minimal logistical headache for the organizer, so you can focus on the performance.
