By blending classic English-style aesthetics with modern functionality, I create offices where teams actually want to spend their time. ## Photos and videos - ![For this office at One Place Lodha, I used glass partitions to create separation without sacrificing the open, airy feel. I used glass partitions to maintain an open flow, and introduced leather Chesterfield sofas to bring in a layer of residential warmth. It is about ensuring the space feels professional enough for high-stakes meetings but comfortable enough that the team stays inspired throughout the workday. ### Designing Workplaces with Soul Commercial design often falls into the trap of being too cold or purely transactional. My approach is to treat your office as an extension of your brand story. Whether it is a creative studio, a law firm, or a tech office, the environment dictates how your team thinks and collaborates. #### The Blend of Professional and Personal In projects like One Place Lodha, I focused on the balance between productivity and comfort. This involves: * **Layered Lighting:** I avoid harsh overhead fluorescents. Instead, I use track lights for focus, coupled with warm ambient lighting in lounges or pantries to create a softer, more inviting atmosphere. * **Zoning with Purpose:** We use glass partitions with black profiles to separate areas without blocking natural light. This keeps the office feeling airy while providing the necessary privacy for focused work. * **Material Selection:** I lean into warm woods, rich leathers, and tactile finishes. These materials age gracefully and make the office feel grounded rather than temporary. #### Why This Matters for Your Business A well-designed office is a tool for retention and culture. When you have a pantry with a pop of color or a dedicated reading nook with a comfortable armchair, it signals to your team that their environment matters. It encourages spontaneous conversation and provides a calm, quiet place to think. If you are looking to move away from standard 'cookie-cutter' corporate layouts, let us chat about how we can build a space that truly resonates with your brand. ## About Shahen Mistry Architects I am Shahen.
