I use a hollow, single-use needle for every nose piercing because it is cleaner, causes less tissue trauma, and heals way faster. Before I start, I apply a topical numbing spray so you are completely relaxed while I handle the piercing. Getting a nose piercing shouldn't be a scary experience. At Shades of Inks, I focus on making the process as comfortable as possible for you. Whether it is your first piercing or you are adding a new look, I make sure the environment is sterile and the technique is precise. ### Why I use needles, not guns Many places use piercing guns, but I avoid them entirely. Guns can cause unnecessary damage to the tissue. Instead, I use a manual freehand technique with a single-use, E.O. gas sterilized hollow needle. This method is cleaner, more precise, and reduces the risk of infection. It allows for better placement and a smoother healing process for your nostril piercing. ### The process - **Numbing:** I apply a topical anesthetic spray or gel 10 to 15 minutes before the procedure to minimize discomfort. - **Hygiene:** Your safety is my priority. I open the sterilized needle right in front of you. I also use disposable gloves, sanitized forceps, and medical-grade skin markers to ensure symmetry. - **Jewelry:** We use high-quality, hypoallergenic surgical steel labret studs or nose screws to prevent reactions. ### Aftercare guidance Once the piercing is done, I will walk you through the cleaning process.
