You will need a local carpenter to perform the final mortise and tenon joinery on-site, a standard procedure for these traditional elements that ensures they stand sturdy against your floor and ceiling. Our architectural elements are built to last using seasoned Vagai or Country Wood, chosen for its strength and ability to hold fine detail. Because we are preserving the traditional Chettinad style, every pillar and doorway frame is chemically treated to be termite-resistant before it leaves our workshop in Thammampatty. ### Why GI-Certification Matters Our work carries the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, which serves as an official guarantee that your piece was created using the authentic techniques passed down through generations in Thammampatty.
