I treat every project like a living, breathing community - whether it's a school, hostel, or a massive campus. For me, it’s about shaping places that support people, spark connections, and feel alive. ### How I Work Trust is huge. I won’t sugarcoat - big spaces are complicated. You need someone who handles every little detail and makes the whole thing feel seamless. My team and I get deep into the nitty-gritty of scale, lighting, and function. We like tackling the tough stuff - that’s where real creativity happens. ### Real Projects, Real Impact - Educational space design is close to my heart. Creating a 200,000 sq ft boarding school during the pandemic pushed us to rethink what kids need. We made science labs with sleek black counters, bright yellow cabinets, and built green zones where students don’t just study, they live. - Hostel common area design? Got you. For a girls' hostel in Mumbai, we went all out - pinks, yellows, bold wall art shouting "UNSTOPPABLE." Every corner is about energy and dreams. ### Common Spaces That Matter I’m obsessed with how people interact. Lobbies, gyms, cafes, rec rooms, and even the admin offices - each spot gets full attention so it brings people together and lets them thrive. ### Why I Do This Love and impact. That’s it. If a space feels right and helps its people, I’ve done my job. ## Highlights Browse through Sonal Bhatia's best work. ### [Featured](https://mytribe.in/sbidmumbai/institutional-interior-design/featured) - [Video: This video gives you a glimpse into one of our proudest achievements: a 200,000 sq ft boarding school campus we designed entirely during the pandemic. SBID is my baby, born outta pure love for design and wanting to shake things up in Mumbai. Been at it for 25 years, sketching, singing, surviving. Lost my dad this year, so life hit hard, but work is where I heal. Christmas is my jam, family glues me together. I barely get to do my own home, but making spaces that feel like stories – that’s my real therapy. ### My work - **Home & Institutional Interior Design**: I design everything - luxury penthouses, cozy apartments, schools, hostels, and soulful spaces like dramatic powder rooms or baby nurseries. - **Design with Empathy**: I believe interiors should feel right for you, not just look good. I love monochromatic living room ideas and muted palettes. - **Personalised Approach**: Bring your lookbook, but trust us to make it work for your space, light and scale. Every detail matters. - **Smart Mumbai Space Hacks**: Hidden bars, Murphy beds, sliding doors – I make Mumbai homes feel bigger and more practical. - **Obsessed with Details**: From custom baby nursery decor to shoe closets, I plan every inch so nothing’s wasted. - **Bathrooms Set the Mood**: Bathrooms are a haven. Do them right, make them last, set the tone for your day. ## More services from Sonal Bhatia - [Full-Service Residential Interior Design](https://mytribe.in/sbidmumbai/full-service-residential-interior-design) · ₹2,000-5,000 per sq ft (estimate) ## Experts similar to Sonal Bhatia on mytribe - [Residential Interior Design by Sonam Jhavar Design](https://mytribe.in/sonamjhavardesign/residential-interior-design) · ₹1,200-3,500 per sq.ft.
