Whether your child is working on a geometric 2D design with poster colours or a detailed pencil portrait, they learn to break down complex forms and understand how colours interact. This systematic approach helps them develop a personal style, which is exactly what sets their entries apart in school competitions. Our approach to creative development is rooted in foundational skills. We don't just tell students to paint; we teach them how to see and interpret the world on paper. ### Why Design and Portraits Matter Learning 2D design, using mediums like poster colours and oil pastels, is essential for understanding spatial awareness and composition. When students practice hexagonal 2D designs or monochromatic palettes, they are training their brains to organize visual information. Similarly, portrait sketching builds patience and fine motor control. By learning to draw human features and hand positions, students improve their observation skills, which aids in every other aspect of their art practice. ### The Saptarang Method Classes are held in our air-conditioned studio in Marol or via Google Meet for those learning from home. We keep our groups small to ensure every child gets feedback on their work. You will see us doing live demonstrations of techniques like background washes, line correction, and value shading. We also emphasize: * **Medium Mastery:** Graduating from oil pastels to watercolours and poster paints. * **Thematic Exploration:** Learning to translate concepts like 'joy' or 'traditional festivals' into visual compositions. * **Creative Independence:** Encouraging students to experiment with shapes and colours to find a style that is uniquely theirs. Whether your child is prepping for an art competition or simply wants to improve their pencil sketching and design skills, we provide the tools and techniques to help them succeed. ## About Saptarang Art Academy I started Saptarang Art Academy in 2005 because I love watching children discover their own creativity.
