It requires a dedicated, controlled acoustic space, as each drum must be positioned and tuned precisely to allow the melody to breathe alongside the rhythmic percussion. While traditional solo recitals focus on the speed and mathematical precision of the Delhi Gharana, these performances are about expanding the instrument's voice. The Tabla Tarang, as seen in my 'Drums for Peace' performance at Kamani Auditorium, treats the Tabla as a melodic instrument rather than a purely rhythmic one. This requires a specific setup of tuned drums, creating a harmonic bridge between classical vocal music and percussion. My work in this area also focuses on thematic resonance.
