It requires deep control over the cone and an understanding of facial anatomy. If your pressure is off by even a little, the face loses its shape. In my workshops at my Charkop studio, I teach you how to use shading to add depth, so the couple on the palm looks realistic and not like a cartoon. ### Why Portrait Art is Different Most people know the basics of mehndi, but portrait work is where you really stand out. It is not just about drawing lines; it is about light, shadow, and proportion. When you are drawing a bride and groom, you need to capture their expressions. ### What You Will Learn In my advanced portrait certification, we break down the complex parts into manageable steps: * **Anatomy:** We learn where the eyes, nose, and lips sit so that your figures stay balanced on the palm. * **Shading Techniques:** This is the most important part. I show you how to vary your pressure to create depth in clothing, jewelry, and facial features. It is the difference between a flat drawing and a 3D-looking face. * **Storytelling:** We practice integrating these portraits into larger bridal compositions. You will learn to place these figures alongside doli scenes, mandap architecture, and traditional motifs without cluttering the design. ### Practical Training in Mumbai I believe in learning by doing. Classes happen at my studio in Kandivali West. We start on acrylic sheets so you can practice your mistakes without ruining a design. By the time you start working on skin, you will be confident.
