I have drawn portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, and others who are pillars of our history.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/6ad23841-af4a-4722-8c94-ca4401e2d980) ## About Patriotic & National Tributes For these performances, I focus on a sequence that builds emotion, usually culminating in a live portrait of a freedom fighter or our national flag. To make this work at your venue, ensure you have a high-lumen projector and a clear screen, as the contrast of the sand against the light is what creates that 'wow' moment for your audience. Sand art is more than just performance; it is a philosophy. I view every performance as an opportunity to reflect on our shared identity, drawing from the belief of 'Vasudaiva Kutumbakam'—one world, one family. When I create a tribute for Independence Day or Republic Day, the sand grains come together to form stories that exist only for those few minutes, mirroring the resilience and history of our nation. ### My Approach to National Tributes My patriotic sets are designed to evoke pride. I use a 'Sand Melody' approach where the music is meticulously synced with the visuals. Whether it is a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi or a depiction of the tricolor, every movement is choreographed to match the rhythm of the patriotic score. ### Technical Requirements To ensure the best impact for your event, I typically require: - A high-contrast LED wall or a standard Projector and Screen setup. - A reliable PA system for the backing track. - A dimly lit stage area to maximize the glow of the lightbox. ### Event Suitability These 15–20 minute thematic sets are ideal for: - School and college cultural programs. - Corporate annual days celebrating Indian heritage. - Official government functions and award nights. - Private community gatherings aiming to instill a sense of national pride. Each performance is a live interpretation, and while I have a set repertoire for patriotic themes, the exact flow is dictated by the energy of the event space. My goal is to leave the audience with a sense of unity and deep respect for our country. ## About Raghavendra Hegde I’m Raghavendra Hegde. For me, sand isn't just a medium—it's how I connect with our roots and tell stories that matter. Every time I draw the tricolor or a portrait of our heroes, I aim to ignite that same patriotic fire in the audience.
