They represent beauty and romance. I love placing them as central elements, often looking at each other, which brings a lovely symmetry to the palm. * **Lotus (Kamal):** The lotus signifies purity and new beginnings. I use these mostly as wrist bands or to fill gaps between larger elements. It is a delicate motif that perfectly balances out the heavier peacock patterns. * **Elephants:** These represent strength and royalty. I often incorporate tiny, intricate elephants in the finger designs or the palm borders. They add that regal touch that makes a bridal hand look complete. ### The Art of Placement The key to using these traditional figures is spacing. If you pack them too tightly without *jaali* work, the design loses its clarity. I focus on creating distinct frames, often using architectural shapes like *jharokhas*, to house these motifs. This makes your mehendi look distinct and well-defined, not just a blurred mess of henna. ### Why Quality Matters Because these motifs are dense, the quality of the henna is non-negotiable.
