Embroidery is more than decoration; it is a way to find patience and focus. At my studio in Koramangala, I teach the art of slow, mindful stitching, helping you create beautiful, tangible pieces while rediscovering the joy of working with your hands.

## About Workshops & The Joy of Learning

Unlike large, generic classes, my workshops are intentionally small to ensure I can provide hands-on technical guidance. Whether you are learning the geometric precision of Kasuti or the running stitches of Kantha, I focus on the 'how'—ensuring your knots are hidden and your work is reversible. All necessary materials are provided, so you only need to bring yourself and a willingness to slow down.

In our fast-paced world, the simple act of pulling a needle and thread through fabric offers a necessary pause. My workshops at Sameeksha are designed as a digital detox—a space where you can trade screen time for the tactile satisfaction of making something with your own hands.

### What You Will Learn
I teach over 25 distinct styles of embroidery, including:

*   **Kasuti:** As a GI-certified artisan, I break down this Karnataka heritage craft into manageable, counted-thread patterns that result in beautiful, reversible work.
*   **Kantha & Sashiko:** We explore the rhythmic, meditative nature of the running stitch, perfect for upcycling or creating texture.
*   **Dimensional Embroidery:** For those interested in floral and textured work, we cover various techniques to add depth to your fabric.

I have been practicing this craft since 1999, and I treat teaching as an extension of my preservation efforts. You aren't just memorizing patterns; you are learning the history and the intent behind each stitch. By the end of our session, you will leave not just with a finished piece—like a hand-stitched bookmark or a decorative hoop—but with a new skill you can practice anywhere, anytime.

These sessions are open to everyone, from design students looking to understand textile techniques to hobbyists simply seeking a calm, creative outlet. No prior embroidery experience is required.

I am Sujaya, and for me, embroidery is a way to keep my mother’s legacy alive. I started Sameeksha to share the meditative rhythm of the needle and thread with others. It is pure joy to see a student’s face light up when they finally master a stitch.
