We coordinate with venue authorities to ensure our rhythm and, where applicable, live accompaniments are balanced to enhance the devotional environment. Whether it is an intimate lamp-lighting ceremony or a larger festival offering, we handle the logistics of sound and stage movement so you can focus on the ritual. ### Our Approach to Devotional Art For us at Samarpana, a performance in a temple is a 'Samarpanam'—a humble submission. We do not just perform; we offer. Our Mohiniyattam repertoire for sacred spaces is carefully curated to reflect the traditional aesthetics passed down by our Guru, Padmashree Bharati Shivaji. This involves choosing pieces that resonate with the deity and the setting, ensuring that our movements and expressions (Abhinaya) remain rooted in devotion rather than spectacle. ### Preparing for Your Temple Event We understand that every temple and sacred space has its own guidelines and architecture. Our troupe is experienced in adapting to various environments, from heritage temple stages to intimate prayer halls across Bangalore and beyond. **What we consider for every temple offering:** * **Space & Floor:** We prioritize wooden or carpeted flooring where possible, essential for the safety and intricate footwork of Mohiniyattam. * **Sound Integration:** If using recorded audio, we ensure high-fidelity backing tracks are used. For live orchestra productions, we perform a thorough sound check 2 hours prior to the event to ensure the acoustics of the temple are respected. * **Aesthetic Harmony:** Our dancers wear authentic Kerala Kasavu sarees and traditional temple jewelry, which naturally complements the visual language of traditional architecture. ### Why Choose Us? We are a collective of dancers, not just service providers. When you invite us, you are bringing a group that understands the discipline of the art form. From our young 'kutti' dancers performing at festivals like the Heritage Bangalore Temple Festival to our senior disciples offering recitals at Guruvayur, our work is consistent in its intent and spirit. We are here to support your ritual with grace, patience, and a deep, shared love for Mohiniyattam. ## About Samarpana At Samarpana, we are a family of dancers based in Bangalore who view every performance as an offering.
