We focus heavily on the Bharati Shivaji style, starting with 'Chuvadusadhakam' (footwork) and 'Hastha Mudras' (hand gestures). Our batches are kept small, usually 4 to 8 students, so we can provide personal corrections on your posture and swaying movements. We learn together, laugh together, and grow together. ### Training with Purpose At Samarpana, Mohiniyattam is about more than just aesthetic movement. It is a 'samarpanam'—a dedication. Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced practitioner, our curriculum in Bangalore is built to support your growth. We follow the lineage of Guru Bharati Shivaji, ensuring every student learns the precision of footwork and the depth of Abhinaya (expression) through rigorous, systematic training. ### The Kalari Experience Our classes are conducted in small batches because we believe in quality over quantity. This allows our instructors to observe every nuance of your 'andolika' (swaying movements) and offer real-time feedback. We go beyond physical training to include theory, explaining the history and spiritual aspects of the art form, helping you connect the 'chollu' (rhythmic syllables) with the actual movement. ### More Than a Dance School We are a family first. Our community includes Carnatic music enthusiasts, people who love a good jam session, and dancers who appreciate the fun behind-the-scenes moments as much as the discipline of the stage. We host regular workshops through our Anubhavam Series, where you get to learn from eminent guest artists in an intimate, interactive setting. ### Mentorship for Arangetram For those ready to commit fully, we provide comprehensive Arangetram mentorship. This involves 6 to 12 months of dedicated coaching, preparation for the live orchestra, and guidance on every aspect of your debut performance, ensuring you feel confident and ready to take the stage. ## About Samarpana We are a collective of dancers and musicians based in Bangalore who see dance as an offering. Led by Guru Vinaya, our family is all about hard work in the studio balanced with plenty of laughter and real connection.
