Beyond perfecting your dance steps, we guide you through the intricate process of building your Margam, coordinating with your live orchestra, and managing the technical logistics of your debut, ensuring that the day is a true samarpanam of your craft. ### Our Approach to Your Arangetram The Arangetram is a sacred milestone, representing the transition from a student to a performer. At Samarpana, we approach this journey with the gravity and reverence it deserves, following the lineage of Guru Padmashree Bharati Shivaji. #### The Mentorship Journey Preparation typically spans 6 to 12 months. We focus on: - **Repertoire Construction:** Selecting and refining the Margam, ensuring each piece flows logically while showcasing your technical strengths and emotional range. - **Technical Conditioning:** Rigorous practice of footwork (Chuvadusadhakam) and hand gestures (Hastha Mudras) to build the endurance required for a full solo set. - **Abhinaya Nuance:** Deep-diving into the storytelling aspect of Mohiniyattam, which is crucial for a solo debut. #### Orchestration and Stagecraft Your performance is only as strong as the ensemble supporting you. We handle: - **Nattuvangam & Coordination:** Guru Vinaya Narayanan conducts the orchestra, ensuring the rhythm is tight and the connection between dancer and musicians is seamless. - **Logistics:** We help bridge the gap between you and the technical team, including lighting, sound, makeup, and stage decoration, so you can focus entirely on the dance. #### Why Train With Us Our approach is personal. We are not a factory for arangetrams. We work in small groups and provide one-on-one sessions to ensure your style is authentic. Whether it is sourcing a professional orchestra or managing the minutiae of your costume fitting, we stand by you as family throughout the entire process. ## About Samarpana Vinaya Narayanan leads our collective here in Bangalore, bringing years of dedicated practice to every student she mentors. We believe in building a connection that goes beyond the classroom, supporting you through every rehearsal until you are ready for your solo moment on stage.
