I use a combination of precise pencil work for the structure and soft watercolor accents to make the colors pop, which adds a traditional yet realistic feel to the artwork. Every mythological portrait I draw is more than just an image. It is an attempt to capture the serene presence of figures like Ganesha, Lakshmi, or Vishnu. My process starts with a high-grade graphite foundation to get the proportions and features perfect. Once the base is set, I carefully apply watercolors for highlights on the jewelry, crowns, or traditional attire. This mixed-media approach gives the drawing a modern touch while keeping the spiritual essence intact. I use 300 GSM archival-quality paper for these pieces, which ensures the texture holds up well against the watercolor wash. After the drawing is finished, I spray it with an archival fixative to protect the graphite and colors from smudging or fading over time. Whether you are looking for a piece for your puja room or a unique gift for a housewarming, my goal is to deliver art that radiates positivity. Because these pieces involve detailed work on fabric textures and ornaments, they usually require a bit more time than a standard portrait. If you have a specific deity or a classic mythological scene in mind, feel free to share the reference with me. I will handle the rest with the care it deserves. ## About Sagar Kumar I am Sagar, a pencil artist from Ramanagara who finds peace in capturing the divine on paper.
