I look for the specific expression that made them famous—the sparkle in Dr. Rajkumar's eyes or the wisdom in Kuvempu's gaze. I use a mix of graphite and charcoal to capture those details on 180 GSM cartridge paper, ensuring the portrait feels alive and not like a flat print. My process for these tributes is the same as the custom portraits I create for families. I start by focusing on the eyes and the unique facial features that define the personality. For legends like Shankar Nag or Poornachandra Tejaswi, I spend extra time on the textures of their iconic look—their glasses, the way they wear their hair, or the specific drape of their clothing. I use professional-grade graphite and charcoal pencils to build depth. Once the drawing is complete, I apply a clear matte fixative spray. This stops the charcoal from smudging and keeps the paper from yellowing over time. If you want a tribute sketch of a loved one or an icon for your home in Bengaluru or Ramanagara, the process is simple: 1. You share a high-resolution reference photo with me. 2. We discuss the size—I usually recommend A4 for a single face or A3 if you want more detail. 3. I send you progress photos so you can see the drawing take shape. 4. Once finished, I pack the work between rigid cardboard sheets to keep it safe during transit. I believe art should bring good vibes into your home. Whether it is a portrait of a writer who inspires you or a film star you admire, I want to make sure the final sketch is something you are proud to frame. ## About Sagar Kumar Nanu Sagar.
