Whether it is an Aangan style courtyard home or a community space, my process focuses on performance. I calculate precise airflow, daylight penetration, and structural joinery that avoids synthetic glues, ensuring your home functions as efficiently as it looks. My design process is deeply rooted in the traditional 'Assam type' construction, which I have researched extensively for its seismic-responsive qualities. I take these time-tested, local technologies and update them using modern scientific tools. ### From Sketch to Structure Every project begins with a deep dive into the site context. I use parametric modeling software like Rhino3D and Grasshopper to simulate environmental conditions. This allows me to predict how sunlight will move through your space or how to channel wind for natural cooling without relying on air conditioning. ### The Technical Reality When we move to blueprints, I focus on structural honesty. You will see this in the sections for the yoga hall or the Aangan house, where the roof structure and wall composition are explicitly detailed. I specify materials like locally sourced stone, bamboo, and lime plaster, providing 1:5 scale drawings for specialized carpentry. This level of detail is necessary to coordinate with local artisans and ensure the hybrid timber systems are built correctly, safely, and without the need for toxic adhesives. ### Biophilic Integration Architecture should be a healthy extension of your life. In these drawings, you will see how I integrate courtyards (the Aangan) to act as the heart of the home. These are not just aesthetic choices but functional zones that provide privacy in dense areas and constant access to nature.
