I built a custom parametric tool for Rhino3D and Grasshopper that helps you bypass the guesswork. You can input your building footprint and center-to-center column distances, and the tool immediately generates a structural skeleton based on my hybrid timber-concrete logic, allowing you to check structural viability before you commit to detailed engineering. ### Why I Share My Research My work with the 'Hyber' (Hybrid Timber) system isn't just about building structures; it's about shifting the industry standard. Whether you are an architect or a property owner, understanding the structural logic behind seismic-responsive timber is vital for long-term safety and sustainability. These tools simplify the calculation of column spacing, beam depths, and structural grids, helping you validate concepts early in the design phase. You can download the current version of the tool directly from my shared drive via the links provided in my publications. ### Technical Scope * **Seismic Analysis:** My research focuses on building in earthquake-prone zones, specifically adapting the flexible principles of traditional 'Assam type' houses into modern, high-rise contexts. * **Glue-Free Joinery:** We prioritize dry-locking timber joints to eliminate chemical-heavy glues, which improves site safety and environmental impact. * **Carbon Reduction:** My feasibility studies aim for a significant reduction in CO2 footprint—often exceeding 40%—compared to standard RCC construction.
