For this homestay, we integrated the building around a mature mango tree rather than clearing it, making the tree the focal point for the property entrance. This approach ensures the architecture feels established and at peace with the environment from day one. This project in the foothills of Dehradun was an exercise in harmony. The client needed a structure that functioned as both a private home and a welcoming homestay. We prioritized the elevation to mirror the scale of the surrounding hills, using a vaulted portico that invites the outdoors inside. Lighting was key here. By balancing the warm glow of chandeliers against the natural daylight, we achieved a space that feels grand yet intimate. The landscape design was not an afterthought. We studied the plot’s orientation to maximize views and airflow, ensuring the home remains comfortable throughout the seasons. Our scope included full turnkey delivery: from the initial architectural drawings and structural planning to the final interior finishes and landscape layout. This ensures that every element, from the window placement to the driveway pavers, aligns with a single, cohesive vision. Whether you are building a primary residence or a holiday home, our process focuses on making the space feel pure, functional, and deeply connected to its site. ## About Saatvick We are Saatvick, and our practice is built on the belief that spaces should have a soul.
