Without color to distract, every stray hair or sloppy shadow stands out. That is why I do not just desaturate files. I light these sessions with specific contrast ratios in mind, chasing that chiaroscuro vibe, to make sure the final portrait feels like it has weight, texture, and real personality. When you remove color, you force the viewer to look at the geometry of a face, the curve of a shoulder, and the intensity in an eye. I use high-contrast lighting to create that classic cinematic feel. It is perfect for models who need their book to show range beyond just pretty pictures. In the studio at Goregaon, we work with shadows to create drama and depth that color sometimes hides.
