It’s about the long hours, the soil quality, and solving problems on the fly. Whether we are setting up a massive gate display or a small balcony garden, the process remains the same: we get the base right, pick plants that can handle the local weather, and make sure everything is sturdy enough to last. ### Behind the Scenes at the Mela People see the finished gate or the treehouse, but they don't see the nights spent working on the irrigation or the specific soil mix needed to keep plants alive in high-traffic areas. When I'm at the Surajkund Mela, my focus is on survival and impact. We don't just 'decorate'. We do actual horticultural softscaping. That means: * **Soil Prep:** Using Neem Kernel Cake and Vermicompost to protect against pests before the crowds arrive. * **Sun & Wind Tolerance:** Choosing varieties like Croton Petra and Bougainvillea that can actually survive the open-air heat. * **Logistics:** Heavy-duty hauling of soil, plants, and drums to mark out pathways and green beds. ### Can You Do This at Home? You don't need a fairground to get the same results. The methods we use for the mela are actually what I bring to your home. If you want a terrace or balcony that doesn't wilt in a week, we need to focus on what goes *under* the plant. That means lightweight, nutrient-dense soil mixes designed for structural safety on balconies, and proper drainage setups that stop your plants from drowning. I’m not about selling you a look that fades. I’m about setting up a garden that grows. If you're tired of plants that die after you buy them, we should talk about how to get your space ready. ## About Khushboo Nursery I’m not the guy who sits in an office directing traffic. I am the one with the dusty boots, on-site at sunrise, figuring out where the irrigation lines need to go. I run my nursery in Faridabad the same way I work on event grounds: with honest work and a lot of coffee.
