I work closely with your Nattuvangam and Mridangam players to ensure the rhythmic patterns are tight, providing that crucial vocal energy that lifts an arangetram or stage production. Konnakol is the vocal heartbeat of Carnatic music and dance accompaniment. My approach to this art form is rooted in tradition but delivered with the flexibility needed for modern stage productions. What I bring to your stage is more than just syllable recitation. It is a calculated, rhythmic conversation. For Bharatanatyam recitals, I ensure that my vocal percussion aligns perfectly with the dancer's jathis. Whether it is a complex Tisra or a fast-paced Chaturashra, I coordinate with the orchestra, including the Mridangam, Violin, and Flute players, so the music feels like a unified force rather than separate parts.
