## About Modern Layers: Shags, Butterfly & Long Hair Cuts

Most people worry that layers will make their hair look thin or messy, but I use specific cutting techniques to remove weight and add movement exactly where you need it. My goal is to give you a style that looks great the moment you step out of the studio and stays easy to manage at home, so you don't spend your mornings fighting with your hair.

Getting a haircut isn't just about length; it's about movement. If you feel like your hair is flat or weighed down, we likely need to look at how we're placing your layers.

Modern styles like the butterfly cut or a textured shag are built to do the heavy lifting for you. By using point cutting and razor techniques, I can remove bulk from thick hair without it looking frizzy or uneven. This is what helps you get that effortless, bouncy look that stays in place throughout the day.

### The process
Every session starts with a conversation about your daily routine. We talk about what you actually have time to do with your hair in the morning. If you're someone who just wants to wash and go, I'll structure the cut to air-dry well. If you like styling, we can go for something that looks more polished with a blowout.

Worried about losing too much hair? We can add significant shape and texture while keeping the length you love. Whether it’s curtain bangs to frame your face or invisible layers to add bounce to your ends, we'll map out a plan that keeps you comfortable.
