We don’t just teach you to blow into a piece of bamboo. We start with specific lung-capacity and breath-control exercises that are almost meditative. Whether you’re learning devotional Bhakti songs or complex classical Raags, we break the technique down so it feels like a breeze, not a workout. Think of flute class as therapy. Yes, you learn the technical fingerings and breath control, but you also get that rare hour of calm in a busy city like Mumbai. My students often tell me that focusing on the sur (notes) helps them switch off from their daily stress. We keep our batches small—usually 4 to 6 people—because I want to hear your progress and catch the little things, like hand posture or mouth position, before they become habits. Whether you want to play a simple Bollywood melody, master the basics of an Indian classical Raag, or learn to play Jain Stavans and devotional music, we’ve got the notes covered. And if you're a parent, know that we start kids early. Playing the flute is incredible for oral-motor muscle development, lung capacity, and focus. You don't need to bring an expensive instrument on day one. We have the gear at our Ghatkopar studio. Just bring yourself, your curiosity, and let's make some music. ## About Riyaaz with Nishaa I'm Nishaa. For me, music is not a syllabus—it's a vibe. I started this school in a single room with three kids, and now we're a tribe. If you're looking to learn the flute or harmonium without the rigid, boring structure of traditional schools, you’ll fit right in here.
