I always map out the bride and groom's features with a light hand before applying the design, ensuring that the fine-tip lines result in a clean, realistic portrait once the natural henna stain develops fully over 35 hours. ### My Approach to Storytelling My approach to bridal and portrait henna is rooted in the idea that your mehendi should reflect your unique journey. Whether we are incorporating a specific silhouette of the couple, significant dates, or intricate cultural motifs, the goal is to create a design that feels deeply personal and intentional. ### The Technique Behind the Art Creating realistic figures requires more than just steady hands. I use specialized techniques like pull and drag shading to build depth and dimension, allowing for lifelike detail in bridal portraits that resemble fine sketches on the skin. I use a 0.38mm fine tip for facial outlines, which is crucial for capturing the subtle expressions of the bride and groom. For the remaining design, I focus on flow and symmetry, ensuring that the heavy bridal patterns complement the central portrait rather than overpowering it. ### Why Natural Matters I exclusively use my own organic henna paste, mixed with sugar and essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus.
