We spend quality time at my studio in Goregaon West focusing on the micro-expressions—the way you look at the camera, the grace of a hand gesture, and that specific 'filmi' intensity. If you want a performance that feels like a scene from a movie rather than just a dance routine, this is the emotional layer we build together. For me, expressive dance is where the magic happens. It is the art of using your body to communicate a feeling—whether that is the longing in a semi-classical track or the high-drama energy of a 90s Bollywood ballad. My studio, The Dance Temple in Goregaon West, is designed for exactly this kind of exploration. It is not just a rehearsal space; it is where we strip back the technicalities to focus on the story. If you are preparing for a wedding sangeet or shooting a music video, you need more than steps. You need the confidence to own the camera and the ability to convey the right emotion through your eyes. I break down my process into three layers: * **The Foundation:** Learning the choreography and rhythm so it becomes muscle memory. * **The Expression:** This is where we work on 'filmi' nuances—the head tilts, the pauses, and the facial expressions that make the audience feel what you are feeling. * **The Performance:** We refine the stage presence, ensuring you are comfortable, confident, and absolutely shining. Whether we are working on a lyrical routine or a semi-classical piece, I am there to guide you through the expressions that bring the music to life. If you have a specific song that is close to your heart, let’s sit down, pick it apart, and choreograph something that feels uniquely yours. ## About Ria Chatterjee I'm Ria, and for me, the stage is my life.
