We use shock-absorbent wooden flooring to protect your knees during intense footwork, and our curriculum is designed to help you prepare for recognized Gandharva Mahavidyalaya exams. Whether you are starting with basic mudras or refining complex spins, you receive consistent feedback in a group that never exceeds ten students. ### Your Journey in Kathak We believe Kathak is a conversation between rhythm and expression. Whether you are exploring the Lucknow or Jaipur gharana, our training focuses on building a strong foundation. Beginners start with basic footwork (tatkar) and hand gestures (mudras) to develop muscle memory, while intermediate and advanced students focus on speed, precision, and the storytelling art of abhinaya. ### Why Train With Us * **Guru-Shishya Tradition:** We blend theory and practice. You learn the history, the taal (rhythm), and the cultural shlokas behind every movement. * **Exam Readiness:** If you are serious about certification, we facilitate the path for Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya exams. Our quarterly courses include mock assessments by senior Gurus to ensure you are stage-ready. * **Small Batches:** With limited spots in each batch (5-10 students), your instructor has the time to correct your posture and alignment, ensuring you do not develop bad habits early on. ### Studio Setup Our air-conditioned studio in Metro Magnet Mall, Bhandup, is equipped with full-length mirrors and shock-absorbent flooring. This setup allows you to practice safely for longer durations, which is essential for mastering the intricate spins and heavy footwork of Kathak. We also provide extra practice slots when you are nearing an exam or a major performance. ## About Rhythms Group I started Rhythms Group in 2000 to make the arts accessible to everyone, from kids to seniors. We do not just teach steps; we share the heritage of Kathak in a space that feels like home. When you join us, you are not just a student, you are part of a legacy we have built in Bhandup for over two decades.
