## About Classical Indian Dance Classes

### Why I Dance

For me, dance is how I find balance and joy. Rhythmotion is my space with my daughter Alar, where anyone can move, learn, and just feel good. Sometimes, you just need to shake off the stress and get that happy feeling - dance does that.

### What We Teach

We’re all about Indian classical dance. If you want to learn Bharatanatyam or Kathak, you’ll get the real deal here. I teach in the Guru-Shishya style, so you get that traditional vibe. Bharatanatyam Margam training covers everything from basic steps to storytelling with expressions. Kathak footwork classes are all about those sharp tatkaars and smooth chakkars, plus we mix in live music sometimes - tabla and harmonium, so you get the full experience.

### Bollywood Fusion

Not everyone wants hardcore classical. Our Kathak-Bollywood fusion dance lessons are for anyone who just wants to have fun and learn something new. No experience needed, no age limit. It’s all about enjoying the music and movement.

### How Classes Work

We do hybrid classes - come to our Bangalore studio or join online. The curriculum is structured, with both practicals and theory (yep, we talk about Natyashastra and all that). You’ll get chances to perform, take exams, and be part of our year-end showcase, Chalana.

### My story

Namaste, I’m Chitra and Rhythmotion is my second home, maybe my first! Started off learning under Maya didi, pranams to her always. Dance for me is riyaaz, it’s practice in any corner, even my paati’s house. Rhythmotion is family - my amma teaches Carnatic vocal, my daughter Alar dances and teaches too. We mix Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Bollywood, all with a lot of joy. Here, dance feels like home, not just a class.

### My work

- **What we teach**: Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Semiclassical, Kathak-Bollywood fusion classes, Carnatic vocal, body conditioning, and choreography.
- **Who can join**: Anyone! No age or gender limit. Classes in Bangalore or online, beginners to advanced all welcome.
- **Dance and wellness**: Our body conditioning for dancers uses yoga, pilates, kalaripayattu. We focus on mind and body wellness.
- **Fun with tradition**: We blend classical roots with Bollywood fun. Our fusion classes bring both grace and energy to the floor.
- **Performances**: Students perform at events and our annual showcase, 'Chalana' - a real highlight for everyone.
