## About Body Conditioning for Dancers

### Why I Do This

Dance is my language, and I know how tough it can be on the body. I started this conditioning program because I wanted dancers to feel strong, pain-free, and actually enjoy moving. When your body’s tuned right, those *bols* (rhythmic syllables) like 'Ta thei thei tat' just flow. No drama, no struggle.

### What Makes My Program Different

This isn’t your regular gym routine. I’ve built it for dancers, keeping in mind what we actually need - not just random fitness. Whether you’re into Bharatanatyam, Kathak, or Contemporary, I focus on:

- core strength for dancers
- dancer injury prevention
- flexibility training for dancers

I mix old-school stuff like Yoga and Kalaripayattu with Pilates and strength training. Sometimes we use dumbbells, resistance bands, or even a mop stick. No fancy gear needed.

### What We Work On

- Strong core and healthy spine - so you move with power and avoid back pain
- Strength and stamina - for those endless rehearsals
- Mobility and flexibility - hips, shoulders, ankles, you name it
- Balance and stability - because stillness in motion is magic

### More Than Just Exercise

I’m big on mindful movement. It’s not just about sweating - it’s about feeling good, letting go of stress, and connecting with your body. You’ll walk out feeling lighter, maybe even a bit happier.

### How You Can Join

I offer online group classes, one-on-one sessions, intensive workshops, and personal consultations. Pick what suits you.

My *pranams* to my Guru, Maya didi, for teaching me to respect my body and my art. This is for anyone who wants dance to feel easy and joyful.

### My story

Namaste, I’m Chitra and Rhythmotion is my second home, maybe my first! Started off learning under Maya didi, pranams to her always. Dance for me is riyaaz, it’s practice in any corner, even my paati’s house. Rhythmotion is family - my amma teaches Carnatic vocal, my daughter Alar dances and teaches too. We mix Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Bollywood, all with a lot of joy. Here, dance feels like home, not just a class.

### My work

- **What we teach**: Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Semiclassical, Kathak-Bollywood fusion classes, Carnatic vocal, body conditioning, and choreography.
- **Who can join**: Anyone! No age or gender limit. Classes in Bangalore or online, beginners to advanced all welcome.
- **Dance and wellness**: Our body conditioning for dancers uses yoga, pilates, kalaripayattu. We focus on mind and body wellness.
- **Fun with tradition**: We blend classical roots with Bollywood fun. Our fusion classes bring both grace and energy to the floor.
- **Performances**: Students perform at events and our annual showcase, 'Chalana' - a real highlight for everyone.
